Hey, a little constructive criticism from one portrait artist to another; it appears that you lost focus or focused on one half of his face more than the other and sized them differently. If I put this on photoshop and re-sized the eyes up with the nose down it would look fantastic.
Don't get me wrong, you're good, you've got it, I can see by the detail in your work. I've been doing portraits ever since 13 or so...I've made similar mistakes in that I've concentrated too much on one part or another so when I moved on the next part and the area between didn't match up in size or shape. There is an easy fix if you notice it before you get too far!
Thanks! I appreciate your comments as I have only been doing this for 15 months after a 16 year gap from art!
Any help is always appreciated!
My wife also says I have the tenancy to draw to the left as my studio is my rug by my fire ha ha! I think the more practice I get the better hopefully I will get! I have already done a celebrity portrait with permission off Carson Henley and have had some artwork published (for my wife) of her favourite pop group with credits! I have also had Carson Henley and David Hayter look at my Deviant Art gallery and David Hayter left me a direct message on twitter saying he "LIKE YOUR FOO's". David Draiman of the band Disturbed comment on several piece I have shown him on twitter saying either "VERY COOL" or "AWESOME" and have shown Bruce Campbell one of the paintings I have done via twitter! It has been an amazing journey over the past 15 months with so much happening all at once! Though no money has passed it still looks great for a beginner like me!
Thanks again bud and any tips will always be appreciated by me
